Am I making the right decision ?

As the time draws nearer for me to move to OZ, the anxiety builds up. Thoughts of whether I am foolish to give up a well-paid (sometimes, I think I am overpaid) job here, and that I might be financially worse off.

Am I making the right decision ? Or is this the biggest mistake in my life, giving me financial grief for the rest of my time on earth ?

Sometimes, I consider it as a totality with my partner. He is not in a highly paid position. And from what I forsee in the future, it would be tough for him to go into well-paid area in Singapore.
Maybe my decision would be different if he were also in the high-earner category. Both of us can have comfortable lives in SG ?

Hopefully, even simple jobs in OZ well be much better paid.

However, it's tough to calculate whether overall we would be better off here in SG or in OZ. Higher tax, different living standards, quality of life, medical care, social welfare, etc..

And do the gay-friendly laws in OZ have any impact in our lives ? I don't really know. Its not like I am facing great legal difficulty here in SG either. Probably not yet.

I guess we just have to venture into it to find out more.

Afterall, I do not foresee that I can continue to get this higher-than-average pay for the next 20 years for me to become rich. I am thinking that if anytime in the next 20 years I get a pay cut, or my pay stagnate, our lives overall in OZ should be better than in SG....

Should... But will it be a correct decision, or a mistake ? ... I guess only time will tell.

5 years and "Married"

Our 5th anniversary was just over. It wasn't one of those very romantic ones. And we got "married"... haha..

Well, basically, went to a shop and bought 2 identical rings. When we went home, took the ring and "Will you marry me ?" and we put the rings on each other, though not on the traditional fourth finger.

Well, his birthday is coming soon, so time for me to plan another romantic evening... I need some suggestions ! :)
